Miss Isabelle Maddox, known as Isla, has never been one to follow rules. She would much rather a reckless ride on horseback than a dance in a ballroom but her father has very different ideas about her future. To further the families’ fortune, he would see her married to a Scottish lord. Isla fears this will be the end of the life she treasures above all else.
Gavin Campbell will never marry again. His past has taught him well, his first wife’s spending has him teetering on the edge of financial ruin. Marriage is a disease , or so he thought until the headstrong Isla starts seeping into is heart and
he begins to wonder if a woman like her might actually be a cure.
Can Isla’s wild ways tame this laird’s heart?

I try new authors occasionally via the free books section of bestsellers. I won't even download a book unless it has at least 4 stars because so many glowing reviews seem to come from friends and family of the author. This one had about 20 reviews at the time, so I tried it out. It was a total waste of my time. I failed to check to see how many of those reviews were from verified purchases -- and there aren't many.I found the story line weak and predictable, which made this a 2 star. The horrendous editing dropped it to 1 star as it's very irritating to read a book that is so poorly edited. ('posse' isn't spelled 'posy.') My suggestion is for the author to consult with the English literature department at a local university. Get their recommendation for a 3rd or 4th year student (or grad student) and pay them a stipend for editing their work.

Taming a Laird Wild Lady Taming the Duke Heart Taming the Heart Book 3 edition by Tammy Andresen Romance eBooks Reviews
This is a very nice, quick book to read. A girl raised and allowed limited freedoms during this time period is unusual and makes an entertaining story.
Interesting characters and a good plot make this an enjoyable read. Light reading, excellent to relax before bed or on the weekend.
Another Winner for sure. Tammy Andresen is amazing. I have read her Western/Cowboy's and Recency to the New York and Boston. Her characters are so great. Gavin and Isla are two of my favorites. I am a huge huge fan. And I can guarantee you will smile all the time. I highly recommend you read all Tammy Andresen books. And Taming A Lairds Wild Lady is a true winner !!!!!
Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall i am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends .I absolutely think this is great book. All opinions are my own and they are not influenced by anyone but myself. If this review helped you at all please vote yes below.
Despite the malapropisms sprinkled throughout the content and some anachronisms (women before the mid-1800s did not wear pantaloons), it was delightful to read about a strong, resourceful heroine who can save herself and save the day. It was also great to read about a strongly masculine hero whose ego isn't shattered by a competent, intelligent, resourceful woman. Nicely done. Now find a competent editor to catch and correct those language errors and anachronisms..
I have read the previous two books of this series, and this was my favorite. It has more excitement, suspense, character's I cared about too.
The h is a very talented lady, in pursuits mostly geared towards men. I loved her character in the last book, and her part was small. So you don't have to read the previous books because you will not be lost if you start with this.
Our H starts out stubborn, but we soon learn it was because how his deceased wife was and he is weary to have another wife like his last. But, when the qualities of our h hits him, he falls fast. The lovemaking was descriptive (more in this than the previous two stories), but because I loved this couple together, I felt the passion.
We get a nice epilogue over a year in the future which was nice and wrapped everything up. Also, no cliffhanger, which is another plus. Yes, there are editing problems, and you may have to re-read a sentence here or there, but I still enjoyed the story. (ljb)
Taking a Laird's Wild Lady was the first book I've read by Tammy Andresen. The storyline is a familiar one in recency books with marriage-hunting, female that rides horses when she shouldn't, and kidnapping to head to Scottish border, among others. But the part that really made this book a chore to finish reading were the typos and clunky sentences. One example that stood out was the "steal" blue of his eyes. Other sentences had extra words that didn't make sense.
Please proofread before publishing. No matter how good a story is, sloppy or non-existing editing/ proofreading will ruin it every time.
